The chapel was built in 1904/05 ny the hotel-manager Carl Hascke and patrons for the memory of the empress from Austria (*1837 - +1898), Elisabeth (Sissi), who died 1898 in Gent through an attempt. The chapel was a part of the hotel-area on the Schmittenhöhe. 1984, the wood-company bought the chapel.

The last owner was Komm.-Rat Franz Gramshammer, hotel-manager in Zell am See. (Grand Hotel) On the 10th of September 1908 the chapel was baptized by the bishop and last cardinal, Johannes Baptist Katschthaler (1900-1914), on the 10th anniversairy of the murder of empress Elisabeth.

Building facts:
Build by bricks with wood-frame construction and shingle on the walls.
- Open bell tower - Tin roof - Shingle on the outside walls - Small porch for the sacristy with windows and roofed foyer with stairs - 5 windows with windblinds - foyer left memorial plaque - offertory box and safety guard - bell in the tower
The Chapel was build in 1904/05 by the master carpenter Straßgeschwandtner master bricklayer Herzog, both from Zell am See. The weather destroyed the chapel in the last years and it showed damages on the whole building. So the wood-company sanified the chapel, starting in 1983.
Interior:
Churchroom, entrance on the eastside over small stairs. Entry to the sacristy in front of the altar on the right side.
On the background the "Wartburg". On the left of the altar is a private souvenir of the empress Elisabeth. Altar picture framing made by wood with a moderate decoration and a golden socket on a dark-red coloration.
Altar:
In the middle a group of sculptures – "Elisabeth von Thüringen" is standing and is giving bread to kneeing poor people. On the background left the "Wartburg". On the left of the altar: sculpture > bishop (70 cm) On the right of the altar: Hl. Martin with a sword, trenching his coat (72 cm) On the altar: 4 candlesticks and a wood crux – INRI
Figures/Saints:
On the wall with podium. Hl. Josef with crook (89 cm) and Jesus spending benison (89 cm), made by carver Albin Ditscheider, sculptor from St. Ulrich. Also a calendar picture in a gold framing (70,5 x 83 cm)
The windows and the money for the chapel building were spending by the following families, which are eternalized on window bottoms.
